“What a feeling…we’re still taking it all in. This is only our second year…this is so huge,” Speer said. “It was a tough weekend dealing with everything but one thing we didn’t have to worry about was fuel. We can always count on VP’s M1 Methanol to be pure, free of contaminants and consistent, which is critical to racing in the Pro Mod class. I’ve used VP fuels since my youngest days in karting and our experience is that octane for octane, VP fuels make more power and are the most consistent. They’re an essential part of our program.”

“We congratulate Tyler on his hard-fought championship,” said Chris Wall, Chief Marketing Officer for VP Racing Fuels. “It’s an impressive achievement at his young age in only his second season and we’re proud to be a part of it.”
As a result of Speer’s new celebrity status, he’ll be signing autographs in the Lucas Oil booth at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) trade show in Indianapolis in December, while his Top Fuel boat will be the featured attraction in the Hedman Husler Hedders booth. According to Speer, who also is licensed in the Top Fuel class (equivalent to NHRA Top Fuel but on the water) and races in the ARCA stock car series, his plans for the 2017 season are up in the air. “We want to run more Top Fuel in the Drag Boat series. We’re also going to run the two ARCA dirt races and see if we can do some more.”
